Life is Better in the Sand
About Us
Rita Crockett Beach Sports Academy (RCBSA) was born from a lifelong love of sport, community, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to grow, play, and shine. Founded by Olympic silver medalist and world champion Rita Buck-Crockett, RCBSA is a family-owned, family-driven organization that brings people together through the power of beach sports. After decades of competing and coaching at the highest levels—from the Olympic stage to global pro leagues—Rita returned to Dania Beach with a vision: to create a space where people of all ages and backgrounds could train, com-pete, and belong. With the help of her family and a tight-knit local team, that vision came to life in The Pit, our home for beach volleyball, beach tennis, soccer, handball, sandy pickleball, UBall (beach basketball) and beach flag football. We’re more than just an academy. We’re a movement. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), RCBSA is committed to making beach sports accessible to everyone—no matter their starting point. Through our clinics, camps, tournaments, and community events, we promote healthy living, build confidence, and foster friendships that last long after the sand is brushed off. At RCBSA, we’re building more than athletes. We’re building a legacy of joy, teamwork, and opportunity—one sunny day at a time.
